Production of basic plaster lime - Maltamix TM

Maltamix TM is a product prepared with aged micro-filtered "grassello" and selected inert grinded marble which supplies a medium density natural past for several uses.
Applicable in more layers with a maximum of 5mm per application , it's versatile for medium/general finishings, stuccoing of stones and marble, filling of small and medium cracks.
The product is enriched with a special resin expressly studied for the use in restoration but it can be supplied, at request, without addition of resin.
Once dry, it results very resistent and compact already at the first phase of carbonization mainting its natural transpiration capacity.
It can be easily mixed with grounds or natrual pigments as they have an excellent stability under light and bad weather.
Ready t o use, it can be mixed with a small quantity of grinded baked clay, pozzolan or hyraulic natural limes.

- addition of grinded baked clay makes the product proportionally more "thin" of binding, therefore with a faster gripping action and a slight increase of the insulating factor .
The best dose to add varies from 5 to 15% of the total volume, obtaining a light rose product that once dry presents higher hardness features.
The best quality for the grinded baked clay to be added must have a granulometric of 0,0 to 0,1mm.

- addition of pozzolan gives the product a hydraulic factor, it must be carefully mixed in order to
obtain a completely homogeneous paste that doesn't present lumps of pozzolan.
By adding this product, the worker must consider the reactive factor that this may confer.
The best dose to add varies from 5 to 15% of the total volume,

- addition of hyraulic natural limes gives "fatness" to the product, increasing it binding capacity and hydraulic factor.
The introduction of these limes must be done with the most accurate care, correcting the mixture
by adding sand to maintain the original lime/inert composition .
The optimal addition totally depends on the worker.

The medium composition of MaltaMix TM is of one binding part and two inert material parts.
Other eventual introduction of bindings or inerts will make, in proportion, the product more "fat" or "thin" . The worker must therefore take into consideration, when using, the new qualities obtained product.
MaltaMix TM, in its original composition, creates a mortar and/or stucco which respects the severe quality rules for restoration materials.
